Bukit Kubu

About five hectares of grassland at the entrance to Berastagi, with an old colonial hotel on top — ideal for family picnics and kite flying.

The hotel building dates from around 1910 and served as a rest house in Dutch colonial times. Today visitors can ride horses, take a small horse carriage or simply sit on the grass enjoying the cool air; it is also popular for pre-wedding photos.

🚗 Getting there: On Jalan Letjen Jamin Ginting as you enter Berastagi from Medan.
🎟 Admission: Per vehicle: car Rp100,000, motorbike Rp30,000; horse ride Rp50,000 (detikSumut, February 2023)
💡 Tip: Bring a mat and food for a picnic, plus a jacket, as the wind on the hill is chilly.
